After so many wins, it’s strange to see Thomas Tuchel having to explain a defeat.
This was no ordinary defeat either. This was a humiliation at the hands of the team at the bottom of the league, and the manager struggled to comprehend what had happened.
He mentioned the early kick-off time, and while we sympathize with what he means, it just comes off as a feeble excuse. Big Sam will be laughing his head off hearing his opposite number bring that up.
Still, there’s a great chance to recover in the week against Porto.
🗣 "First game on a Saturday at 12:30 I did not have the highest expectations."
