You will all have seen by now that Chelsea has been drawn against Portuguese side Porto in the quarter-finals of the Champions League, with the games set to be played in April.
Porto was largely considered as the ‘easiest’ draw to get by most people, although there are certainly not any ‘easy’ teams in this stage of the Champions League that’s for sure.
Porto is currently second in Primeira Liga’s ten points off the top spot, but this tie is never going to easy.
The Blues have faced Porto 8 times in their history dating back to their first Champions League meeting in 2004, in which Chelsea won 3-1.
The last time they met was in 2015 in the Champions League again, which Chelsea also won 2-0.
It’s a positive head-to-head for Chelsea, who have won 5 of their meetings, drawn 1, and only lost 2 times.
Let’s hope we can keep that going over the next two meetings next month!
